UP Cops Deny Knowledge Of “Bring Gift Back” Video Amid Custodial Torture Charge

In the video, around nine men ask and attempt to hinder blows pouring unremittingly on them from two police officers furnished with sticks in what gives off an impression of being a police headquarters.

Lucknow: Four days after Uttar Pradesh BJP MLA Shalabh Mani Tripathi shared a video on Twitter showing cops brutally whipping a gathering of men with the subtitle “return gift for agitators”, the police in Saharanpur, where the episode supposedly occurred, say they have no data regarding the video. Nobody has recorded a grievance and there is no examination, they said.

In the video, around nine men ask and attempt to impede blows pouring relentlessly on them from two cops furnished with sticks in what has all the earmarks of being a police headquarters, yet to no end.

The video turned into a web sensation two days after the Uttar Pradesh police took action against dissenters and kept a few of them for upsetting harmony and concordance as conflicts were accounted for at a few spots where individuals had accumulated to fight presently suspended BJP representative Nupur Sharma’s shocking and public comments against Prophet Muhammad and Islam.

Remarks

Addressing NDTV, Sharanpur’s Superintendent of Police, City, Rajesh Kumar said they have no information on the video. “We don’t have the foggiest idea where this is from. Assuming that we get any protest, we will see,” he said.
